about 7 years ago apple australia decided to stop selling macs in the various department stores around. the staff selling the macs had little to no clue and basically the macs didn't sell.
a few weeks ago apple announced that they would start selling macs again in department stores, first off they'd start with david jones in the city and see how they went.
renae and i wandered into the city today and thought we'd stop by to check it out. i seriously can't believe the stupidity of apple australia. in a small corner of the computer section they have the powerbooks, ibooks and a g4, plus some software and the ipod. however, there are about 20 times the amount of wintel machines in the store than there are macs. the macs are crammed into a small corner and the sales staff there have absolutely no clue.
i'm guessing it won't be too long before they realise what a bad mistake it is. apple australia really needs to get their shit in gear and take lead from the head office.

there i was with renae, looking around at ariel, minding my own business. i gazed away for a second and saw a face that i recognised. i took a second look, and the picture came clearer, it was russell crowe. i'd never seen him like that, he was dressed really casual.
i went to get some fresh air as it was hot in the store and there he was again. i was thinking to myself maybe i should snap a photo of him with my phone, but then i remembered that he's punched a few reporters, etc so i decided not to =)

went a bit nuts the other day and spent quite a large amount of $ on scarygirl stuff! all i have to say is wow, damn they're cool toys! congrats to nathanj for putting together such great toys!

my fear of a black hat dvd arrived this morning, courtesy of amazon. it feels like summer has started already, the weather is beautiful at the moment (bar the huge 140km/h winds we had the other night)!
could this year have gone any faster? i can't believe it's almost september already!

Fast Car

sorry for the lack of posts, things are hectic at the moment. lots of things going on work wise which is keeping us very busy.
we went to stef and henry's for dinner tonight which was great. we had bruschetta for starter with a really nice pasta with italian sausages and for dessert, henry (hey goober!) made this really nice apple crumble biscuit type deal.
after dinner we set off to the movies to go see, the italian job. man that movie had some cool car scenes in it. it was a great movie overall, very pleased, i'd go see it again. the mini's we're definitely tre chic. it's almost 1am so it's time for me to hit the sack!

finally found a new barber! there's nothing more refreshing than a short haircut and a beard trim! it all started a couple of weeks ago when i went to go get a haircut. a friend of mine ran a barber shop where i used to live (randwick), and i'd been going to him for abot 7 years. last time i went to get my haircut he was gone, he'd sold his shop and dissapeared! i'm a picky bastard when it comes to my hair, but it's all good now, found this little barber shop around the corner run by 3 greek guys, really nice!
anyways enough of my ranting! =)

RAM

i had to go install some ram for a client today in 3 revision a bondi blue imacs. i seriously can't believe that apple made it that much of a pain in the ass to install ram.
you have to pull off the back casing, pull out the logic board, take off the cover for the cpu, etc and put the ram in on a 45 degree angle then put it all back together again. here's me thinking it'd take about 15 minutes!

fucker fucker fucker... to start it off i was sick all weekend, i had to drop some stuff off to get dry cleaned this morning, here i am turning the corner, i had to stop because of construction work going on and suddenly, screech boom. this stupid woman runs up the back of my NEW fucking car. to top it all off i turn around the corner where i can stop, she follows me, then she fucking DRIVES OFF!!!!!
all i can say is lady i've got your number plate and i'm going to hunt you down!

i found monkey island 1, 2 and day of the tentacle (above). i need to find a floppy drive to get the data off my monkey island 2 disks. ah memories =)

d pointed out an interesting site to me this morning. our local council has an archive section on their website that has photos from the 1950's of our local area!
