Bacula

Yup, i'm still alive! What can I say, i've been englufed in life and work lately and haven't really had a chance to post anything, or for that matter couldn't really think of what to post.

I found a really nice piece of open source backup software called Bacula that I had at one stage looked at using but can't remember why I didn't. I got a new Adaptec 39160 SCSI card off eBay as well as a second hand DLT tape drive. I popped this into one our BSD development servers, and within about 15 minutes I had all of our development boxes being automatically backed up by Bacula to the DLT drive. I can't get over how powerful this thing is. I've been used to Retrospect all my life, but this thing is actually better than Retrospect!

The wedding plans are still on the cards, we're thinking next year around April/May might be the time.

So many things have happened since I last posted to the site, Apple is now switching to Intel, which is a good thing for a number of reasons, but also bad at the same time. That's about it for me at the moment, happy first of the month!
