The joy of startup

You may have read on d's website that I formed a new company in October this year. You probably also noticed I haven't really made any posts to the site. Well all my time is currently involved around this new venture. I can't really say much at this stage, but i'm very excited to share it to the world when we're ready.
In actual fact the new company has been around for about 3 years - in my head of course. It's just actually finally coming to reality.
On another note we've got an awesome array of Christmas cards for sale this year with 50% of the proceeds going directly to Oxfam. Pick yourself up a pack or two here.

You may have seen Daniel mention on his site the whole iPod nano fiasco. To cut a long story short, we got an iPod nano, within less than a week it was scratched so badly the screen was unreadable. We sent it back to Apple and was given a case number, etc. I got a call from a guy from Apple saying that he was going to intercept the nano before it go to the repairs department as he knew about the problem and was going to do something about it.
Track forward 2-3 weeks from that conversation, and I had another interesting conversation with Apple basically letting us know they weren't going to replace the nano because we'd damanged it. That was enough to piss me off, so I spoke to a fairly senior individual and after a 20 minute battle on the phone I got my way. We were getting a new nano sent.
Track forward another couple of weeks and a few more conversations with Apple's now offshore call centre, nobody is able to help me and let me know what is going on with the nano. I finally got in touch with someone yesterday and after tracking down the guy I originally had the battle with, I not only got the nano shipped, but got some additional warranty kicked in. Vent over.
