I haven't posted about the arcade machine in a while, mainly because I haven't had the time to do any work on it. I have started finalising the plans and hope to begin construction over the next month.

iMAME

I started playing around with the design in Illustrator, and am starting to have something that I really like. You can view the full size version of that image here. Illustrator does a great job of the perspective thanks to the 3D extrude and bevel tool. I fudged the shadow, but it's looking nice :)

I want to keep the whole thing as simple as possible with very clean lines, no t-molding or any of that plastic crap.

So what do you think of the design?

I like it very much, though I'm a bit confused. When it was first announced, the thing was going to be a coffee table, right? When did it become an arcade-style cabinet?

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm whining; really I'm just a confused little boy.

Hi Ian,

It's gone through many incarnations :) Originally it was meant to be an arcade coffee table setup, but after going through all the design elements, it wasn't going to work, it would have been a huge table!

In the end I decided to make a standup machine :)
