Picked myself up a very nice pair of Sony XPlod 6 x 9 inch car speakers. Strathfield car radio have a sale on and they were less than half price, only $70!

The plan is to use a small 2 channel car amp and hook a power inverter to it so I can run it from mains power. The magnets on the speakers should be far away enough from the screen to not cause any magnetic interference. If it does become an issue you can get shielded magnet attachments for the back.

When you say car audio, I say subwoofer. I guess if you used a 12 inch woofer it would give some sort of vibration feedback (like the PS2 controllers) with explosions and stuff. Might mess up the internals though.
