All I can say is oh my god, it's done! I can't believe it. It's been over 12 months in the making and about 4 different ideas, but finally it's all complete!

speakers!

The speakers; a pair of Sony Xplod 6" car speakers. They sound fantastic connected to my logitech sound system.

joysticks!

The joysticks, Happ Compeition joysticks, very very nice and really smooth action. Not as smooth as my old japanese joysticks, but still fantastic. I haven't put the buttons in the cabinet yet, that's the last thing on my list today.

almost together!

The whole thing comes together really easily for transport. You slip the slides into the frame, slide the speaker/marquee area into the grooves at the top, stick the screen bezel on, then put the control panel down. All that's required is a screwdriver and quite a few screws.

finished beast!

So there we have it, the finished beast. After a long time of planning and construction and experimentation it's all there. If you'll excuse me i'm off to drink until i'm silly and play the old classics from when I was a kid.

Sweeeet. Very sweet. When it comes to building stuff with analogue tools, I am all thumbs. So, I am really impressed. When are you gonna change stuff again? ;)

As a random reader who's watched this project of yours since the 'table' phase, it's amazing to see it come to fruition. Very, very cool.

WOW I am really impressed with the final outcome. It takes alot of determination to accomplish a project like this for a long period of time. I know your busy but, when will you be posting a tutorial of some sort of how to build one? Wouldn't mind building one for my house.

this is really fantastic... nice job. You should think about selling a few. Or at least the shell so people with old g4s clould buy it and use it. I know I would.
