Today saw my first flight where I was at the controls of an Robinson R22 helicopter. It was a scary feeling to be in control and at the same time a freeing experience.
We took off from Bankstown Airport this morning at about 9:15 and headed out towards the Warragambah Dam (There's not much water in there!). The R22 is a lot smaller than the R44's that I've been in, I felt very cramped to begin with. As there's no air conditioning we took one of the doors off the R22 before we took off, this gave us a nice breeze :)
Next Friday i'll be heading back and we'll take a flight out over Sydney Harbour which i'm really looking forward to!
